Biscuit International UK is the leading specialist supplier of own-label gluten-free biscuits and cookies in the United Kingdom market. Located in Gateshead, our production facility operates three lines, with an annual output exceeding 4,300 tonnes annually in plain, chocolate and sandwich biscuit formats. 

We understand the importance of offering gluten and milk-free options to accommodate the specific dietary requirements of celiacs and those with sensitivities to gluten.

History

Since 1936, we have built a reputation as a leading UK food manufacturer.

1936

Creation of the company by Frederick Shaw with a single recipe for Ginger Parkin

1939

Move to Team Valley to a purpose-built 33,000 square foot facility, ready to supply shopkeepers across the northeast region

1972

Registration of Prewetts brand and launch in the UK

1986

Selling of the business rebranded as Northumbrian Fine Foods, supplying major grocery retailers nationwide

2018

Continued success results in the sale to Biscuit International, as the business focuses on the rising consumer demand for gluten-free foods
