Biscuit International UK has 1  site in the UK and this opportunity is located in Gateshead. We have been operating here for more than 80 years.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Office and HR Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for all day-to-day administration, supporting the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) with administrative duties, and ensuring all employee areas are maintained to the highest standards. You will handle incoming calls professionally, ensure customers and clients receive required documentation, and maintain compliance with HR documentation and legislation.

Our new colleague’s key responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate office activities and operations, ensuring health and safety and office conditions are maintained.
  • Order and manage office supplies, schedule meetings and appointments, and provide general administrative support to SLT, including minute-taking.
  • Answer calls, facilitate room requirements and standards, provide general support to visitors, and ensure documentation is maintained correctly and legislatively.
  • Coordinate in-house or off-site activities such as parties, meetings, and celebrations. Liaise with managers to ensure facility and hygiene standards are maintained. Manage office vendors and service suppliers, organise catering for visitors and in-house events, and manage boardroom and meeting rooms.
  • Complete general HR administrative tasks, support the Recruitment Lead with inductions of new employees,
  • Ensure invitations to meetings are processed and issued timely, and keep trackers and associated reporting up to date.
  • Ensure People HR is kept up to date, process new starters and leavers accurately and timely, support audit activities, and ensure employees have legislative and in-date right-to-work documentation.
  • Plan and organise annual and new starter health assessments, and review, track, and validate driving-to-work documentation.

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong administrator with 2 years of experience in HR administrative roles.
  • Understanding of basic employment law.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident to converse with employees at all levels and maintain a professional attitude.
  • Ensures confidentiality is maintained.
  • Experience in food manufacturing and HR training in employment legislation is desirable.
  • Proficient use of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
